Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 2026
Sunny Spot Child, Youth & Family Counselling ("Sunny Spot," "we," "us," or "our") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting the personal information of clients, website visitors, and their families. This policy explains what information we collect, how it is used, and the choices available to you.
Information We Collect
We may collect basic contact details (such as name, email address, and phone number) when you submit a contact form, create an account, or join a waitlist on this website. If you become a client, your counselling records and health information are collected and stored separately in accordance with professional and legal confidentiality standards for Registered Clinical Counsellors in British Columbia, and are never shared through this website.
How We Use Your Information
Information submitted through this website is used only to respond to your inquiry, schedule a consultation, manage your account preferences, or provide the services you have requested. We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties.
Parent Resources and Email Updates
Parents and caregivers may optionally consent to receive free parent resources, practical guides, practice updates, workshop news and occasional Milo updates by email. The consent box is not preselected, and signing up is not required to use the website or request counselling. Sunny Spot may store the email address, consent date and version, delivery status and unsubscribe status needed to manage these messages. The signup form is not a clinical intake form, and visitors are asked not to include a child's name, health information or counselling details. You may unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email.
Data Storage & Security
Website account and contact-form data is stored using secure, access-controlled systems. Appointment booking is handled through Jane App, a third-party scheduling platform with its own privacy and security practices.
Website Analytics & Advertising
This website uses Google Analytics and the Meta Pixel to understand how visitors find and use the website and to measure the effectiveness of advertising. These tools may use cookies, pixels, web beacons, or similar technologies and may collect information such as pages visited, the referring website, approximate location, device and browser details, and interactions with links or advertisements. Sunny Spot does not intentionally send counselling records, diagnoses, intake details, contact-form messages, or other clinical information to Meta or Google for advertising purposes.
Meta and Google may use information collected through these technologies to provide measurement services and, where permitted, personalize or deliver advertising. You can manage cookies through your browser settings and review your choices through Meta Ad Preferences, Google My Ad Center, or the Digital Advertising Alliance of Canada.
Your Choices
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of the personal information we hold about you at any time by contacting us at info@sunnyspotcounselling.com.
